University Relations

University Relations is KU's central public relations office, responsible for communicating information (news releases, publications, multimedia, websites, advertising) that enables the public to better understand the university, its mission and its many contributions. University Relations works to strengthen KU's public image and identity statewide, regionally and nationally.

Marketing

Marketing oversees the process of designing and implementing initiatives intended to enhance the image, reputation and visibility of KU in the eyes of key audiences, including prospective students, elected officials, opinion leaders and the general public. Marketing also works with campus communicators to coordinate how KU tells its story internally and externally.

Kansas Public Radio

Kansas Public Radio the Public Radio Station licensed to The University of Kansas, is a KU outreach service, providing arts and information programming to listeners in northeast Kansas. KPR broadcasts 24 hours a day. Programming includes classical music, NPR news, jazz and folk/bluegrass music.

The Kansas Audio-Reader Network

Kansas Audio-Reader is a radio reading and information service for blind, visually impaired, and print disabled individuals in Kansas and western Missouri. Services are offered free of charge to anyone in our listening area who is unable to read normal printed material.

Special Events and Visitor Services

Special Events helps introduce KU to the public in a friendly and welcoming way, through the KU Visitor Center in Lawrence and proactive outreach efforts such as representation at the Kansas State Fair, the Wheat State Whirlwind Tour, Family Weekend Open House, and other campus/community celebrations.

KU Communicators

KU Communicators is a support network of public relations professionals based in units across the university who play a vital role in informing and assisting our key stakeholders, from parents, alumni and the media to faculty, donors and citizens. University Communications promotes awareness and collaboration among units and provides centralized services and leadership where needed.
